CUSTOM SEIZES 26,792 LITERS



The Zone A Team of Operation Whirlwind Task Force of the Nigeria Customs Service has seized over 26,792 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Badagry. Comptroller Huseein Ejibunu, the leader of Operation Whirlwind, announced this during a press conference on Monday in Seme, Lagos.


He stated, “Our team, acting on credible intelligence reports, intercepted 43 kegs of petrol, each containing 30 liters, totaling 1,290 liters. Additionally, a Mark tanker truck with chassis no: IMIAD3840TWO03697, containing 15,200 liters of petrol, was intercepted at Jubau filling station along Seme Badagry road. On June 14, a Suzuki salon car with registration number SMK 83 BK, used for conveyance, was seized.


Furthermore, a Pathfinder Jeep with registration number ABJ 591 DC and a Toyota Avensis with registration number 1973, both equipped with specially built bunkers and loaded with petrol at Muse filling station, were intercepted. The exact quantity of petrol in these vehicles is still being determined.


Moreover, 124 kegs of petrol, each containing 30 liters (totaling 3,720 liters), and 65 kegs of petrol, each containing 40 liters (totaling 2,600 liters), were also seized.”
